    The boss from hell

About a year ago I took a job with a Real Estate Developer Firm that has a hotel within their Parent Company and I was hired to be their accounts payable person. I was led to believe that this job offered a great chance of growth and opportunities. However it was nothing but lies and false promises. It took little less than a week to figure out that my boss was the devil incarnate. He often would sound sweet in front of the CFO and tell me how he was a salaried employee and that if I couldn't finish my work, I can give it back to him since he can stay as long as he could. Right after the CFO walks away, he goes off on me for not finishing my work and said I was useless and of no help. If that wasn't enough, he belittles me constantly in front of other co workers and plays favorites. He lets a female employees that he favors get away with murder, then blames me for her mistake that I have absolutely no knowledge of. Apparantly, they are drinking buddies off work so you can imagine the torment I have to deal with. Because of his Harassment and jokes about me, everytime I ask someone within the property for something, I am either ignored or not taken serious. I've thought about quitting every single day, but the need for their health insurance kept me there. A years worth of torture has left me jaded, overweight and exhibits low self esteem. If Karma is something that exist and not just some mystical belief, I hope he gets his at the end.

Reply: So you have extablished your boss a not a very nice person and he socializes in bars with women who work with him. That will hurt him later, but that is not your issue. I don't believe karma is your issue. I think you are seeking approval of yourself from other people. When you do that you will loose control of yourself, because you left it in the hands of others. No one took your self esteem away, you have given it away. I know that is hard to believe, but read my comment called be positive. I went though that before. The important part to understand is that you are good at what you do, there is nothing wrong with you, and when you start listing and doing the things you want, positive will happen.
