Why Do Many Say Unions Not Helpful With Bad Bosses?

Further to our site survey question (How helpful is your union in protecting employees from bad bosses?), 62% of respondents believe that their union is not helpful and 6% believe that it is very helpful. Comments, questions and insights into these results are being requested (e.g., what could unions do to be more helpful, what is preventing unions from being more helpful, do employees have unrealistic expectations of the role of unions in terms of protection from bad bosses, and how could unions and management work together in dealing with difficult bosses?).
