A pack of wolves

There are about 5 employees who all are in a "click". If your not in, your out. Several of the leads are also "in". So is the supervisor. They all ban together and if they dont like someone, they treat them like hell until they quit. I have seen people try to stand up and fight by going "up the chain of command" only to have things turned around on them. I have seen people written up, suspended, and even fired because the "pack of wolves" as I call them all ban together and lie. They actually make up stories and put it in writing, called a statement, when HR investigates. Now tell me. When you have 5 or 6 people all writing the same statement against you, how do you fight that? Also, the supervisor (woman) has a huge secret over the managers head, so there is no going to him for help either. How do I keep my job, keep happy and honest all at the same time? NO, I AM NOT IN THE "CLICK" AND YES I AM ONE OF THEIR TARGETS. I get real nervous when I am around them. I do not sit with them on breaks, I do not eat lunch with them. I do not say much of anything at all durring work. I constantly have to watch my back, which is causing great stress on me. It is (the stress) starting to come out physical. I get a stomach ache when its time to go to work. My shoulder muscles are tight and by the time I get off work, I have a HUGE headache. I do not see quitting as an option. That would mean that they win. Besides that, I love my job. What would you do?

I've worked in a few places with similiarly toxic work environments. About the only thing you can do is a) transfer to another department to get away from the wolves or b) find a new job.
Really, leaving is about the only option once you become aware of the pack of wolves thing. It was really bad at my last job in IT. Many competent people just gave up and left because of the wolf-pack (who were, surprise, almost all incompetent, but were accomplished brown-nosers). |

I worked at a small town company for 8 months. There was a clique there also. If you were in you got better hours...if you were out you worked from either 645 am to 4pm or 1pm to 9pm. The supvisors favored theor friends from school etc. There is very little you can do....I left and HR asked me on mylast day why I was leaving and i tld them the unfairness in work hours was the main reason. |

I AMM A VICTIM OF THE PACK OF WOLVES ALSO. I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW LESS QUALIFIED PEOPLE CAN RUN A COMPANY. I'VE ALSO SAW FORMER EMOLOYEES FIRED OR
QUIT BECAUSE OF THE PACK. MY ONLY THOUGHTS IS WILL THEY EVER GET BACK THE WRONG THEY HAVE DONE TO OTHERS AND WILL I EVER FIND OUT THEY DID. THIS WOULD MAKE ME FEEL BETTER TO KNOW THAT LIFE IS JUST AND SO IS FATE. WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN TO DO GOOD. SO SHOULD THE BOSS DO GOOD SINCE A MAJORITY OF OUR TIME IS SPENT IN THE WORK PLACE. |

I, too, worked for such a company up until 6 weeks ago. Due to such poor treatment (many horrible bullying antics/discrimination), I refused to leave. If I were going to be their target, they were going to have to pay me to leave.
I suffered many anxiety/panic attacks, I have been in therapy for the last 2 1/2 years and I am currently taking anti depressant/anti anxiety medication.
Its not worth your health or your well being to suffer at the hands (or claws) of a pack of wolves.
May I suggest that you contact The Human Rights board and plead your case to them...they will listen!!!
Best of luck!!!!!

Me too, I was asked to resign from my company. It was the pack of wolves. I tried to transfer to another department but they had blocked me. We had 15 minutes meeting just to let me know that I have to give them my letter of resignation.
My problem is I have too many degrees and experience. They hate it.They dumped work on me every night to test whether I can make it. Of course, I managed to get it almost 80% - 90% finished. It's still not enough for them. They tried to find fault with me everyday.I clocked out at 11.30 pm almost every night to avoid OT. But 2 supervisors in their gang can get OT. I feel so sick everyday mentally and emotionally.
I had made so many work tracking spreadsheets for them and found out later that my manager had copied all my work put in her folder.
Talked to HR, it does not mean anything. They brainwash her because she is new. I cannot find fairness from anyone. I have to think on my own, no one help me because I am the only Asian in the company. It is racial bias or not I don't know.
I can't eat, can't sleep.
I have my PTO 66 hours.
How can I use my PTO?
Should I give them a letter of resignation now or later?
They told me that my 2 week notice is on June 21, 05.
What I have to do? Please advise. |

Siggpuppy,
They asked you to resign? That's a clean way of them telling you they don't want you to work there. It also will mean you quit. You will NOT get unemployment. Sneaky little buggers.
I would tell the company that if they want you to leave, they'll have to fire you. This was not your decision and therefore they're going to have to clean up their own mess.
Good luck |
