How do ya deal with a Supervisor that doesn't know your job and tries to let everyone believe she does and tries to get on something when your not in...she questioned me this am on a work order and she didn't know what she was trying to ask me....so I was trying to figure out what she was asking me...she said to me."don't play mind games with me" I wasn't really....I give me job 150%...I get good reviews..for 5 years I have been there....I have had it...I told her she wasn't being fair and that if I wAS PLAYING MIND GAMES WITH HER SHE'D KNOW IT!!!AND ALSO THAT MAYBE WE NEED TO SPEAK WITH HUMAN RESOUCES ABOUT THIS....SHE SAID "O PLEASE" AND WALKED AWAY FROM ME!! I e-mailed HR and have an appointment with them on wed am....any comments would help...she has done this to me in the past...thanks

I had a boss once that was singling out a few people and really harrassing them. Me included. I asked to talk to HR. They listened and then talked to her. The result? I got my seat moved RIGHT NEXT TO HER. And they went into my emails and said I was talking bad about my job/company and wrote me up and sent me home without pay "To think about the seriousness of what I have done, and to rethink my employment here". I quit. HR doesnt help us, its the better of the company. If you rise up against her, sometimes it only makes it worse. I dont know what to tell you. I have yet to have a good experience with talking to higher ups about inappropriate behavior from bosses. |

Wow! That was a gutsy move. I do not know how you can handle your boss, but I will say going to HR over a personality conflict in my experience is not a good idea. You see a company is like a navel vessel and HR is there to make sure it stays afloat. If your boss sexually harasses you or discriminates against you based on gender or race, then HR will need to eliminate that person. They will deal with it because it can cause the ship to sink, by lawsuit and federal fines. On the other had if there are personality conflicts, (I know it is involving work, but they will define this as personality conflicts) they will look at this as is it better to get rid of the captain who overseas A thru Z or should I get rid of the ensign that is in charge of A thru C. Which will cause the biggest hole in my ship? When you look at it that way it puts it in prospective for your next move. Remember HR has share holders that rely on them to keep that ship from sinking. I am not saying that they will get rid of you, but they might tighten the screws on you. Now if your boss has had this happen many times before, then they may take a look at her and tighten the screws on her. Just my two cents |

I would go to HR. In the company that I work for, there is not even a HR.
I am in abit of a bind, as for the past fortnight, two co-workers have been running and telling the boss everything that I am doing wrong (which are lies) and I get into trouble for it. If I work with the manager she is nasty to me. I can't make up my mind which is worse, working with two people that will backstab you, or working with the manager who is a nasty all the time. |
