You need to stay calm and not play into the bully's "program." Most bully's are looking for someone to start yelling, etc. - they want and/or a need a reaction.

You are so right! They are so miserable with their own lives, they love misery. They are baiters, which is part of their innate need for conflict since their own personal lives are boring. Been there and seen it big time!

Best phrases to use when you're dealing with a psychotic bully? How about, "I quit."
Bullies know you're trying to avoid trouble; that's why they're pushing it on you. They get perverse pleasure from baiting you, and knowing that you know they're baiting you. My nutcase female bully was so desperate for reaction from someone as quiet and compliant as I was, that she even used my silence to work in her favor. I think she was a closet homosexual, to tell you the truth. The only recourse I had was to quit; upper management seemed to be as bad as she was and giggled over her game-playing. Gross.
