    New Job / Tough Managers

I started a new job - something I've always dreamed of having. The job entails more than I expected. I maintain a positive attitude and I'm striving to take it all in. I don't want to quit, but I'm worried my new managers want me to. They keep questioning my abilities. I have been there just 3 1/2 weeks. I've learned a lot, but not everything yet of course. I was hired in a managment position. I expected to be trained & shown the ropes. They gave me a book & some DVDs & said "do this." I asked for time frame of when stuff should be done. Response was when you finish - everyone is different - Take notes and get through the (huge) manual. I've had very little guidance. It turns out I have been "slow" to learn stuff and now they keep questioning my abilities. They have really cut me down, discouraged me and made me nervous as heck! I love the job & what it is all about! I don't want to quit. I think that I can overcome these obstacles, but not sure how. But anyone specific techniques or ways to prove that you are a great person who can do the job once trained? Without confidence from my manager I have really come to a crossroads. Will these people forever be impossible to work with? Thanks anyone who has advice!

Reply: Apparently their training is in the DVD and book. So read and watch. Everyone has a learning curve to get through if it is new stuff, and in essence a new job. 3 weeks is not enough time to be 100% on top of your game. Try to perserve and catch on . If you stay at a nervous wreck state for too long, it will be your call. They amy not be so impossible to work for once you catch on.
