    who will get the push?

I am taking maternity leave soon and my boss has already given another member of staff some of my hours, permanently!when i return to work we will definately be overstaffed on these days but she says it is not my concern.

She has advertised the rest of the hours- the ad does not inform people that it is to cover maternity leave and therefore only temporary.

I went to personnel about this, as I was worried about not being able to return to my origional job after my maternity leave is up and also concerned that she was mis-leading people into the job. They gave me a cock and bull story about it being the only way to get staff and that they will be told upon the interview that it is for maternity cover but there may be a permanent position for them within the company if they prove to be good!..Funny that!-considering there has been a staffing ban on for the last 12 months. What will the company do with that person if they are good at the job and I wish to return early?- I have the option to take a full year off but I also have the right to return with 1 months notice.

My other worry is that if I do take the full year off- they might try pushing me out of my job instead.. at our branch there isn't enouogh work for 4 of us at the minute- never mind 5. Anyone there able to advise or re-assure me on this one please?
