harassment from my boss

Hello I have been Harrased by my boss for 7 years no not bullying Harassment i work as a cleaner in a hospital its a 5hr job but they give me 4.5 hours to do it in. every time i come in i find he has put texta marks on the tiles in the toilet to see if i clean tiles he then puts sticky tape on door handles just to see if they have been cleaned hides toilet roll cylinder behind toilet door to see if i have moped behind there they are only minor thing to what he has done to me he also alters my time sheet iam supposed to get late shift penalty but he gets white out and takes off the lates on my time sheet so i dont get paid for them and beleive me i depend on the late shift allowance and as i live out of town i have to drive all the way in and get it fixed up at the pay office because with out my late shift penalties i couldnt pay my house morgage he threatens me with the sack then when i take 2 weeks off annual leave he says to the person filling in see how fast you can go it shouldnt take him as long i come back he says how come it takes 4.5 hrs to do your job i have been to the managment she just laughed in my face and said we are allowed to set traps its called quality assurance it assures me you are doing your job i cant leave i need my job and he knows it to this is only a few things he doing everyday what can i do HELP

I would document these "Quality Assurance" items each day just to track these occurrences. Is it possible to discreetly talk to other cleaners in order to find out if these issues happen to them and of course, to see if you are singled out? Regarding the issue of the timesheet, you might make a copy of the original one that you submitted so that you have proof if your manager altered it without your consent. With documented records, your case would appear strong to a third party such as EEOC or if it escalates to a law suit, attorneys. |

Hello Mellow-guy
Thank you for your advice i could go on for years i have documented everything for the last 7 years and i have photo copied my time sheets with the lates taken off as we get salary packaging he said to me one day your paying a house off and then he laughed the only way he would have known is by lookig at my salary packaging letter yes iam being singled out

Unfortunately, this type of workplace harassment is not illegal. Unless you can prove that your boss is doing this to you because of your race, gender, religion, or disablity, your boss isn't breaking the law. And again unfortunately, the EEOC won't be interested. |

yes I have documented everthing for years i also have my time sheets he has taken the lates off with white out i photo copy them before and after what they have come up with now is the overtime if you work over your hours this dosent include me but other workers they wont pay you overtime they will let you put it in as normal time and they will give the casuals heaps and heaps of work is this illegal and they have said to me we are not paying you overtime but we still expect you to finish your cleaning then they give you extra work before you start your normal job and of course takes you over your 4.5hrs and no overtime what can you do they say if you cant do it we can get someone else who can |

Seem to me you only have one choice, do your job correctly. And go to payroll for paycheck adjustment. If they correct on the next paycheck or maybe next paycheck, they are following procedure. Sounds like you manager does not want to lose his job, so he has to keep tight tabs that the wrok is done correctly. Or he could lose his job. |

The problem with my boss is he has plenty of time on his hands he gets 8hrs to do his job people who have done his job walked out of there in 4hrs and they said we dont know what he does for the other 4hrs of coarse he can go around setting traps i have spoke with the union they said there is no such thing as quality assurance its a load of bull sh-- they said i must document everything |

Again, your boss' behaviour isn't illegal, so there's really no point in documenting it - there isn't anyone who will be interested in your documentation. As I said before, this type of workplace harassment is not illegal. Unless you can prove that your boss is doing this to you because of your race, gender, religion, or disablity, your boss isn't breaking the law. And again unfortunately, the EEOC won't be interested. |
