say nothing at all anymore, do not start any conversations with him and if you have to make it really brief.If it's in its early stages arrange a meeting with the boss and him so that you can put the issue to rest.I can guarantee he will think twice before he does it again

most of the time people will attempt to make others look bad because they have a need to feel superior.the real problem is within him.i would keep all communication at a professional level and if he still stabs you in the back i would confront him.after all you cant be anyones doormat unless you lie down and let them walk on you.what do you think?
